Above-Net designs and brings to market custom-designed, mobile terminals that meet the needs of a mobile workers in a wide variety of vertical markets that include financial, distribution, healthcare, education, defense, retail and hospitality.

The products are based on a modular design to enable simple, custom configuration. The units all have a wide range of local and wide-area wireless networking capabilities plus options such as bar code, check, credit card and biometric readers as may be needed in each vertical application.

Our highly experienced and capable engineering, marketing, sales and management team are distributed between the United States and Brazil. Above-Net out-sources manufacturing to first class companies in the United States and Taiwan.

The Market

Today's business trends are strongly oriented to a combination of employee mobility together with constant productivity improvements. This convergence is driven and matched by a similar convergence of technologies such as WiFi, cellular phones, GPS, Voice over IP etc. Now cell phone technology is merging with PDA functionality and is often also combined with entertainment and information communication. This merging is becoming a major driver of customer requirements – single devices with specific multiple functions.

The input for each Above-Net product comes from direct discussions with end user enterprises, usually in conjunction with at least one of our application partners. These partners are industry leading, vertical market application specialists that are closely connected to a specific vertical market such as automotive, credit card services, distribution, retail, public utilities, etc.

Above-Net is focused on developing products and tools that can be specifically adapted to provide solutions in many vertical market oriented applications that meet the needs to effectively improve the productivity of the mobile professional. Working with an ever-growing group of vertically focused, industry partners, Above-Net has created a range of products designed to be easily customized to provide terminal devices that meet dedicated functional requirements.
